Dimapur, March 13 (EMN): As part of the ongoing World Glaucoma Week for 2019, a free screening camp for glaucoma and eye was conducted for people aged 50 years and over, at the council hall of Khar village in Mokokchung district. The programme was conducted on March 12, a press release stated on Wednesday. The event was stated to have been sponsored by the National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment. The camp was conducted by eye specialist Dr. Wobenthung Tsopoe, staff nurse Atola and ophthalmic assistant Sakoyuba, the updates stated.
A total 93 patients were screened during the camp, and were given spectacles for free. Besides, medicines were provided to the needy, the updates stated. Some cases were referred to the IMDH in Mokokchung for further examination and necessary treatment, the source stated.
