Dimapur, Nov. 19: As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR),
Eastern Mirror will be installing a newspaper stand inside the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR)—commonly called as Referral Hospital— in Dimapur, to dispense a limited number of complimentary copies.
The two establishments agreed to the partnership on Nov. 19 after a brief discussion at the hospital.
The editor of
Eastern Mirror, Khrietsonuo Rio thanked the director of CIHSR, Dr. Sedevi Angami for endorsing the proposal for partnership between the two establishments and further announced the beginning of the partnership by initiating the installation of a newspaper stand for distribution of limited complimentary copies for the benefit of the in-patients, emergency doctors and nurses etc.
She was hopeful that the partnership would lead to future collaborations to address health and social issues for the welfare of the society.
The general manager of
Eastern Mirror, Shari Longkumer said that the main idea of distributing free newspapers at the hospital was to help the patients and hospital staff stay updated on the latest happenings around them.
In spite of patients on their sickbed and the busy schedule of the hospital staff, it is important to be informed about the goings-on around the world, he added.
The director of CIHSR Dr. Sedevi Angami expressed happiness over the partnership and agreed to contribute articles on health and social issues.
He also shared that one of the main objectives of CIHSR is to instil and encourage Christian values in all aspects of the professional work.
