- DIMAPUR — The
National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB &
VI) conducted a free cataract eye surgery camp at District Hospital in Phek
town from January 24 to February 1.
- An update from the office of the chief medical officer
(CMO), Phek, stated that the eye camp was held under the supervision of state
programme officer (NPCB & VI) under department of Health and Family
Welfare.
- Altogether, 31 cataract surgeries and 3 minor cases were
performed by Dr. E Phyantsuthung, SPO (NPCB & VI); Dr. Imnapokim,
consultant eye specialist at NHAK; Neikhropeu Mero, SN at DH Phek; Lelhu Iralu,
ophthalmologist assistant (NPCB & VI); Megohenuo Kehie, Ophthalmologist
assistant at NHAK; and Avizo Metha,
administration assistant (NPCB & VI).
