DIMAPUR — Free assistive devices were distributed to persons with disabilities (PoWs) and senior citizens of Noksen sub-division, Tuensang district, on Tuesday at the office premises of the SDO (C), Noksen.
According to a DIPR report, MLA Lima Onen handed over the devices, which included wheelchairs, crutches, and hearing aids.
The distribution was initiated by the Department of Social Welfare and the chief medical officer (CMO), Tuensang, in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), with Onen as the special guest of the session.

Speaking on the occasion, the special guest appreciated the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the Social Welfare Department headed by the CMO and DWO, Tuensang, for providing the facilities for the needy citizens of Noksen sub-division. He also thanked ALIMCO for helping the people in making their lives easier.
He advised the citizens to abstain from the use of tobacco and liquor to have a healthy life.
Phuniang Khiamniungan, SDO (C), in his short speech, thanked ALIMCO, the CMO, and the DWO, Tuensang, for going the extra mile in helping the neediest people of the area.
In his short speech, CMO Tuensang highlighted the statistics of the total beneficiaries of the Noksen area.
