Music school Musik-A held its graduation ceremony for live sound management trainees, fourth batch, at the school’s premises on Fri. May 24. 19 students were conferred with certificates. Three were female candidates. Like the previous years this year had the students coming from Manipur and Assam, a press release stated.
A special guest on the occasion was project director of the MTF, Dr.Hovithal Sothu, who spoke about the importance of good sound engineering and the important role a sound engineer plays in the music industry. He spoke also about various govt. plans for musicians.
Atsung Jamir, head of Musik-A Sound Management department, gave away the certificates. He observed with pride that women were among them: ‘It’s good to have women in the industry and would encourage more women to join in the future.’
The guests were treated to a mini concert from the faculty members and students while all the graduating students were assigned the sound mixer to mix for local music artists.
