Guwahati, July 22 (PTI): Police arrested four suspected rhino poachers, including two from Nagaland, and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from them in Assam’s Darrang district. Assam Police Spokesperson today said police teams launched an operation last night after getting information of presence of poachers at Kachomari Sonari village in Darrang district. Police got information of presence of two poachers from Nagaland and they were about to go for hunting rhinos at the Orang National Park, he said. The suspected poachers have been identified as Nur Hussain alias Lengra, Abul Hussain, Daniel Yepthomi and Alobo Kipa, the official said. “Out of them, Daniel and Alobo are from Nagaland. They came here to poach rhino at Orang,” the spokesperson said. The accused persons then led the police team to recovery of some arms and ammunition, which were buried in a paddy field.
