Four Myanmar nationals arrested in Manipur with 66 soap cases of suspected heroin in joint security operations

IMPHAL — Security forces arrested four Myanmar nationals in two separate operations in Manipur’s Churachandpur district and seized suspected heroin, police said.
Two of the accused were apprehended on Monday after security forces intercepted a two-wheeler (Kenbo) near Bualkot village under Behiang Police Station. A total of 22 soap cases suspected to contain heroin were recovered from their possession.
The arrested individuals were identified as Thangsawmung (56) and Kamkhenmung (56), both residents of Chikha village in Myanmar.

In a separate operation, two more Myanmar nationals — Jhonmung (31) Suanlian and Haukhul (55), also from Chikha village — were arrested from Behiang village with 44 soap cases of suspected heroin.
Manipur Police said an FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the Foreigners Act and the NDPS Act at Behiang Police Station.
In a separate case, police arrested Md. Sajid Khan (28) from Sekmai Pangaltabi in Imphal West district. Around 10,000 amphetamine (WY) tablets weighing about 1 kg were seized from his possession.
Additionally, police arrested two persons — Md. Rohid (23) and Md. Islao Rahaman (25) — for illegally transporting approximately 650 litres of diesel in an Eeco van in Thoubal district.
