Dimapur, Feb. 3 (EMN): President of the Zeliangrong Baptist Churches Council Northeast India (ZBCCNEI), Rev. Namrekeu Pame, has laid the foundation stone for Immanuel Theological Seminary (ITS) building complex on February 1.

An update from ITS president Tunchapbo SP stated that the programme was chaired by Hourupou Gonmei, while the building committee chairman Keingambui Gangmei has briefed the layout of the foundation plan.

It mentioned that ITS, the only theological institute of the Zeliangrong-Npui community, was established on July 1, 2000, with a vision to train the leaders of the society. It added that the seminary has been struggling without proper building due lack of funds for years.

The ITS president has acknowledged the generous contribution of Awangbou Newmai, minister of Environment and Climate Change and Sericulture, government of Manipur, well-wishers, individuals, and the churches towards the construction of the building.

The construction cost of the building has been estimated at INR 3,74,79,443.

The new building is expected to be completed within a couple of years for the interest of the Zeliangrong-Npui communities living in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland in particular and across the world at large.
