- DIMAPUR — The foundation day of Bihar was
celebrated at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on Saturday, on the theme 'Ek Bharat
Shreshtha Bharat', with the governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, emphasising the
importance of unity, cultural exchange, and mutual respect in fostering
national integration.
- According to an update, in his address, the governor lauded
Bihar’s historical and intellectual legacy, describing it as the cradle of
India’s spiritual and academic awakening.
- He highlighted Bihar’s contributions through institutions
such as Nalanda, the world’s first residential university, and the profound
teachings of Buddha and Mahavira, which have shaped philosophy, education, and
governance in India.
- Highlighting the relationship between Nagaland and Bihar,
the governor acknowledged the contributions of the Bihari community to the
state’s progress. He recognised the role of Bihari educators in shaping young
minds, the dedication of artisans and labourers in developing Nagaland’s
infrastructure, and the entrepreneurial spirit of Bihari traders in bolstering
economic activity.
- The governor urged all stakeholders to create more platforms
for dialogue and cultural integration. Reaffirming the vision of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha
Bharat', he called on citizens to cherish the nation’s shared heritage and work
collectively towards a prosperous and inclusive future.
