Former Nagaland MLA Mhao Humtsoe no more

WOKHA — Former MLA Mhao Humtsoe passed away at his residence in Wokha town on Friday after a prolonged illness. He was 85.

Humtsoe was elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 1974 and 1982 from the 38-Wokha Assembly Constituency.

He also served as the chairman of Lotha Hoho, the apex tribal body of the Lotha community, from 2014 to 2018, and held the post of the Naga Hoho’s regional secretary from 2001 to 2003.

The 85-year-old was also known for his pioneering role in forming various organisations and taking up social causes through NGOs.
