Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): The Nagaland Governor PB Achraya has appointed a former magistrate, Mayang Lima, as the state's vigilance commissioner. An order from the department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms informed about the appointment, on Friday.
Lima, a retired principal district and sessions judge, will hold office as State Vigilance Commissioner for five years or till he attains the age of 65 years whichever would be earlier.
The new vigilance commissioner is a former candidate of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party. He ran for elections during the previous Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections from 22nd Arkakong assembly constituency in Mokokchung district.
The order stated that the new commissioner shall not be removed or suspended from office except in norms provided for removal of chairman or a member of the State Public Service Commission under Article 317 of the constitution.
On completion of office, he shall not accept any further employment either of the union government or the state's government, or any political public office except in accordance with Article 319 of the constitution, the government stated.
