Dimapur, May 1 (EMN): Leader of opposition and former chief minister TR Zeliang’s official Twitter account was reportedly hacked on April 30 at around 3.30 pm.

On Friday morning, Zeliang wrote on his Twitter page: “Had urged upon the DGP Nagaland to look into this reprehensible acts by unscrupulous elements.”

His tweet came attached with a statement from his personal secretary that read: “In an unfortunate and woeful incident yesterday, the verified Twitter account of the leader of opposition TR Zeliang was compromised by some unscrupulous element and a random link was tweeted at around 3.32 pm to 3.33 pm. Although, timely intervention managed to extenuate the malicious move, such attempt to malign and tarnish the image of the leader of opposition is most condemnable and reprehensible.”

It further informed that the matter has been reported to the cyber crime branch of Nagaland Police for appropriate action.
