Dimapur, June 21 (EMN): The minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, CM Chang has encouraged Peren forest division staffs to go for more plantations and said that the department should acquire land for plantation.
The minister stated this during his visitation to the Peren forest division on June 18 where he also inaugurated Forest Resource Centre at Jalukie. Updates on Thursday informed.
During his visitation the Chang urged the staff to work hard and increase the government revenue. He added that in community land it is unable to implement forest acts and rules.
The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Dr. Sentitula spoke about the achievements of the division. She mentioned that this year has recorded the highest revenue earning as compared with the last five years data with an increase of INR 20 lakh. The DFO also said that the initiative of the division for the year 2018-19 is to initiate community development through sustainable livelihood.
Advisor to the department of Under Developed Areas, Bongkhao, while congratulating the DFO staffs reminded that it is a blessing to work in the forest department and being so close to the nature. The interaction was followed by ceremonial plantation in the range office complex.
During the visitation, the minister interacted with the staffs. He also visited central nursery plantation sites, office, and guest house. Further, Advisor to the prisons H Haiyong, officer on special duty to the chief minister, Limaonen, and former minister H Chuba Chang were among other dignitaries during the visitation.
