Officials of Forest department along with residents of Forest Colony on the occasion of World Ozone Day in Dimapur on Saturday.

DIMAPUR — Dimapur Forest Division on Saturday observed The World Ozone Day at the conference hall of Forest Office Complex along with the colony residents, ministerial and executive staff.

An update from the department stated that Beizo Suokhrie, DFO, spoke on the theme “Montreal Protocol: Advancing climate action” reflecting the Montreal Protocol's crucial role in both protecting the ozone layer and driving broader climate action initiatives globally.

Bendangtemsu, forest ranger, highlighted the importance and role of ozone layer.

It mentioned that ozone layer helps in preserving ecosystems, biodiversity, protect from skin cancer, cataracts and several health issues.

The programme was chaired by Temsulong, forest ranger, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shilumayang, forest ranger-cum-chairman of Forest Colony, Dimapur.
