Forerunners FC in driver’s seat after beating Sechü Zubza FC

The teams were competing for the top spot on the league table. Forerunners FC, now lead the table by nine points while Sechü Zubza FC have six points in the ongoing 3rd Seyie Auto Kohima Football League. The match was slow-paced initially but turned fierce and competitive as it progressed, especially towards the end. The referee awarded a total of four yellow cards -- two each to Forerunners FC and Sechü Zubza FC, including the goalkeeper for challenging referee. The teams were levelled 1-1 in the first half. Sechü Zubza FC’s right winger Noune Medoze scored a goal for the team at 28th minute but Forerunners FC captain Khwetelhi Thopi found an equaliser in 10 minutes later (38th minute) by converting a free kick into a goal. Right after the break, Sechü Zubza FC captain put the team in the lead by sending the ball into the net of the Forerunners FC with a header in the 47th minute. However, Forerunners FC came back stronger in the second half of the match with two goals to seal the match. Razouvito scored a goal for the Forerunners FC from a long range in the 53rd minute before Khwetelhi Thopi scored once again in the 66th minute. Thopi and Rhitsho Mero of Sechü Zubza FC are the highest scorers of the tournament so far with seven goals each, while Vekhruto Resu of Forerunners FC is in a distant second with three goals.
