Dimapur, Aug. 5 (EMN): Landslides and collapse of retaining walls have been affecting the road connectivity across the state due to incessant rains for the last few days for which, all the agencies including various government departments have been pressed into service for relief and rehabilitation work. It is reported that two sorties with relief consignments were successful at Noksen and one at Tobu on Aug. 5.
However, they could not land at Kiphire due to bad weather but the pilots and flight engineers have been taken care off at central police mess and their relief consignments are under the custody of 1NAP Quarter Guard in order to give another attempt to Kiphire tomorrow.
District administration and DDMA received 30 bags of rice, 100 kg Dal, refined oil of 10 tin of 15 litres each, sugar 100kg , milk 20 kg and tea leaf 20 kg from 7 Assam Rifles for distribution to the poor and needy who have been affected by landslides.
