DIMAPUR — The Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) and the Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) have said they are unable to formally extend cooperation to the Nagaland Foothill Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC) at present, citing unresolved matters involving their respective apex organisations.
In a joint press statement issued on Monday, the two organisations acknowledged the invitation extended by the NFHRCC for its upcoming meeting concerning matters related to the Foothills Road project.
The organisations stated that they recognised the significance of the Foothills Road initiative for the welfare, connectivity and economic progress of the people of Nagaland. They also expressed goodwill towards the efforts undertaken by the NFHRCC in pursuing the project.
The WSH stated that unresolved issues currently exist between its apex body, the Sümi Hoho, and the NFHRCC.
“Until such matters are amicably resolved between the concerned parties, the WSH finds itself unable to formally extend cooperation to the committee at this juncture,” the statement said.

The organisation, however, expressed hope for “a positive understanding and peaceful resolution in the greater interest of unity and progress.”
The CPO, meanwhile, clarified that it has no conflict or disagreement with the NFHRCC. However, it stated that as an organisation functioning under the guidance and directives of its apex body, the Angami Public Organisation (APO), it is presently constrained from extending formal cooperation until further directions are received from the parent body.
They also expressed hope that all pending matters would be resolved “in a spirit of understanding, cooperation and collective responsibility for the betterment of the people.”
