Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): The newly constructed FIFA standard size football ground measuring 120 yard long by 80 yard wide was inaugurated by Lhouchalie Viya, Secretary (AHO) to Youth Resource and Sports Government of Nagaland at Middle Khomi village on Nov. 12, stated an update received here on Tue. Nov. 13.
Viya congratulated the village for taking up such a benevolent project to promote games and sports for the benefit of the youth and completing the cutting and levelling work of an international standard size within a short span of two months through its own effort and resources. He also stressed on the point that in the present day, it’s hard to find a village that will work with its own funding for such a huge project and that it is only through the unity, honesty and dedication of the leaders that has brought the project to a success. He also encouraged the youth to take up sports as a profession as there are scores of scope through games and sports today. The area also has a provision for 400m race track and various other disciplines. The newly constructed play ground is set to host Centre Chakhesang Games and Sports meet in Jan. 2019.
