Dimapur, October 30: The 2nd Football For Peace Tournament and Painting Competition concluded on October 29 at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Ground, Wokha.
The two-day event has been organised by Peace Counts Wokha.
Additional SP, Wokha,Tokavi Achumi attended the program as the special guest during the closing ceremony. In his speech, Achumi emphasised that peace begins from within and lights up the atmosphere within. He also mentioned that without peace development is hampered, so students as future leaders have a very big role to play. He also gave away the certificates and prizes to all the participants and the winners according to a press release that was issued to the media on Sunday During the football match, Gilgal High School emerged as the champions after defeating GA/CC/PWD Youth Fellowship via a tie-breaker.
In painting competition 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were bagged by Elanthung T. Yanthan of Cistus School, Khonzani O. Ovung of DBHSS and Yansarhoni of DBHSS respectively.
All together 25 teams participated in the football event, and 26 students participated in the painting competition.
