Kohima, April 22 (EMN): The Manchester United Supporters' Club Nagaland has taken to Facebook to convey its gratitude to the forefront combatants, who are incessantly fighting each day and night to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
On the official Facebook page of the club fans, clad in Manchester United FC jerseys, could be seen conveying messages of acknowledgment and appreciation to those frontline workers who are sacrificing their lives for the humanity in the face of danger.
With the picture, the fans have posted a message which read, "While we complain about having to stay at home, there are people out there fighting day and night for our safety."
"You are the real MVPs (Most Valuable Players)! God bless you!", the fans club stated.
Colo Mero, an official member of the club and a football enthusiast, speaking to Eastern Mirror stated that the frontline workers such as the police, securities, doctors, nurses, health workers, media personnel, various town councils and others are fighting Covid-19 at the cost of their lives and families to save people from the virus.
"Everyone is staying at home but these are the groups of people who are risking their own lives and even their families who are compelled to go out to do their duties," he said.
The club, which consisted of few hundred fans according to Mero, is the ninth club to be formed in the country and the first from the Northeast.
Manchester United Football Club is a professional English football club that competes in the Premier League, the top flight of English football. It has one of the biggest following with different supporters' club around the world.
