DIMAPUR — The prize distribution ceremony of
the state-level flower show-cum-competition was held on Thursday at Floral Galleria,
Hortiscape, Naga Heritage village, Kisama.
The minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture,
Salhoutuonuo Kruse, attended the occasion as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Kruse emphasised on the importance
of the platform that was given to the participants to showcase their talents at
a state-level and thanked the participants for coming participation. Stating
that the competition continues to enthrall the judges and public alike every
year, she said this year was no exception. She added that the uniqueness and
diversity in the arrangements this year also has been a beautiful addition.
She informed that efforts are being made to incentivise the
floriculture sector to encourage more participants and bring about more
opportunities for them. She thanked the deputy director of Horticulture,
Neisetuonuo Debbie, and the department for their endless effort in making the
event a success and encouraged the participants to showcase their talents in
such event for more exposure.
In her vote of thanks, AHO Chemlila Sangtam thanked the
special guest for being a part of the programme as well as the participants for
their dedication and effort to be a part of the event.
Horticulture inspector, Thungchobeni Kikon informed that a
total of 98 persons participated in 9 categories with 32 entries and 72
winners,
The special guest gave away prizes to the winners.
In the ferns and foliage/ indigenous and exotic category, Tina,
Kedovino Lydia and Moalemla were declared winners as 1st, 2nd and 3rd
respectively, while in the bulbs, tubers and rhizomes category, Mary Kulnu,
Meyieno Chuse and Akumla Kichu were declared winners.
Under orchids-indigenous category, Anangbo, Kezhaleno and
Ngangbu were declared winners, while under orchids-hybrid category, Diezevonuo
Suokhrie, Neikhrietono Chuse and Neikhrietono Chuse were declared winners.
Under bonsai category, Dr. Vizovol Mekro, Ruungubino and
Khriebeino Kuotsu were declared winners, while under perennial category,
Neigulienuo S Jamir, Kevineinuo Khezhe and Vivian were declared winners.
In annuals and biennial category, Vivonuo Khezhie,
Kikruhenuo Solo and Neikhrietono Chuse were declared winners, while in flower
arrangements (fresh) category, Merina Kulnu, Mhalekuonuo Keretsu and
Keviyiephreu were declared winners and in flower arrangements (dry) category,
Mhaleno Zashumo, Rokohuno and Mhaleno Zashumo were declared winners.
