Dimapur, October 30: A week-long model training course on ‘flower drying techniques and arrangement,’ organised by the Department of Horticulture, NU: SASRD, Medziphema campus, concluded on October 28.
Addressing the valedictory function, Director of Agriculture, Rongsenla Ao, exhorted the trainees to be sincere in all they do and be willing to go an extra mile with a smile in business to achieve success. She highlighted that ‘creativity’ is the keyword in the flower industry and encouraged the trainees to be industrious as nothing comes free and nothing can be achieved without hard work.
The programme was chaired by Prof. Akali Sema, HoD & Course Director, Department of Horticulture, NU: SASRD, while report of MTC was presented by Dr. Rokolhuü Keditsu, Course Coordinator, and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Dr. L Hemanta, Course Co-coordinator. The Best participant award was given to Ms. Nukshiwala, Department of Rural Development; the Best flower arrangement award was given to KVK, Zunheboto;
Best card making award was given to Ms. Sanchobeni, Department of Horticulture; and the Best bookmark making award was given to Ms. Felice Ovung, Department of Land Resources.
