A floral artistry workshop at Nagaland University Medziphema encouraged creativity, skill development, and entrepreneurship through floral design.

DIMAPUR — A floral artistry workshop organised by the farmer’s cell, School of Agricultural Science, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus, in collaboration with the district administration, Medziphema, was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, SASRD, Medziphema, on Friday.
Addressing the workshop, ADC Medziphema, P James Swu, highlighted the key aspects and benefits of the workshop and encouraged participants to take part with zeal to learn and apply floral art in their life skills, according to a DIPR report.
He said the workshop would be a learning experience and an opportunity to discover a new hobby that enhances creativity. He added that working with flowers can be therapeutic and stress-relieving.
The ADC also emphasised the importance of flowers in human life and their benefits in boosting mental well-being, enhancing aesthetic appreciation and creativity, and fostering entrepreneurship.
In a short speech, Prof. Dipak Sinha, pro-vice chancellor of SAS, Nagaland University, encouraged the participants to attend the workshop with dedication. He said the workshop would enhance creativity and help participants develop new skills. He also educated the participants on the importance of flowers in life and the need to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
The resource persons for the workshop—Dr. Rokolhuu Keditsu, associate professor, Department of Horticulture, SAS, Nagaland University; Dr. Nini R Kuotsu, assistant professor, Department of Vocational Studies and Skill Development; and Abdul Rahman, Department of Horticulture, SAS, Nagaland University—spoke on topics such as symmetrical equilateral flower arrangement, scalene shape, resin floral art, centrepiece arrangement, Ikebana flower arrangement, and contemporary flower arrangement.
This was followed by demonstrations of various flower arrangement styles and techniques.
