Imphal, July 5 (EMN): Movement of heavy vehicles along Mao sector of National Highway 2 has resumed after repairing the sinking portion highway this afternoon.
Meanwhile, the landslides continue to create havoc vehicular movement for the fourth day between Litan and Mahadev, Imphal-Ukhrul road, Churachandpur-Thanlon and Imphal-Churachandpur-Thanlon road.
Medical Superintendent of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) Hospital, Prof L Ranbir Singh in a notice issued on July 4 said ‘all kinds of routine operations will remained closed till further order as the hospital laundry area was flooded.’ He said the doctors, nurses and other staffs are performing their duties as usual and only emergency operations will be conducted. The hospital is also facing shortage of water supply after the government supply line was affected by the flood, release added. ‘As a result the hospital is relying on private water tankers to meet the demands’ according to Prof Ranbir.
