Dimapur, July 25 (EMN): Torrential rain on July 19 has flooded the new Jalukie village. According to the village press release, flooding occurs every after 5 to 6 year.
The village is placed in such location that natural calamity or disaster by flood can cause sudden destruction to the village. The recent flood in the village has affected the domestic properties and animals. Dwelling houses were flooded and many families displaced.
Paddy fields were damaged and erosion had taken place on large scale. The villagers have sounded the need for flood controlling measure, construction of embankment, canal and drainage systems.
