
Dimapur, Feb. 20 (EMN): Five women namely Vinikali G Kinimi, Likivi I Awomi, Atunali H Shohe, Liya Zhimomi, and Atolimi S Sumi were conferred the 3rd annual Dr. Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS Award for securing MBBS seat through the NEET 2020. The award ceremony was held at Hotel Lavisto, Kohima, on February 19.
An update from the organiser stated that V Shikuto Sema, vice president of Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI), and Inaho P Awomi, joint director of NRE, spoke on behalf of the recipient families. It added that Piholi, STH president, spoke on behalf of the Sümi Totimi Hoho, and Kitoshi Zhimomi prayed for the awardees.
It mentioned that Dr. Toshevi Sümi Totimi MBBS Award is an initiative of Dr. Toshevi Keditsu Sema, the first lady doctor from the Sümi tribe of Nagaland. She completed her MBBS in the year 1977 from Guwahati Medical College. The award is officiated by Dr. K&T Keditsu Foundation in collaboration with Sümi Totimi Hoho. It is presented annually to Sümi women who qualify to study graduate medical course (MBBS) though the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in India.
The award comprise of a certificate and cash prize of INR 1,00,000.
