Five HNLC militants nabbed in Assam

Our Correspondent   Diphu,Sep 20(EMN): Five cadres of militant outfit Hynnietrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) have been arrested and a huge cache of arms and ammunition seized in Assam, an official said on Wednesday. Based on specific intelligence about presence of Hynnietrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) Cadres, unit of the Red Horns Division and police launched a series of operations at multiple locations in West Karbi Anglong District of Assam on Sep. 18 and 19^th.According to sources, HNLC militant has been identified as Besterwen Hanse, son of Andro Hanse of village Umpani, Karbi Anglong Assam, Badhu Bey, son of Sarsing Bey of village Sohliya district Ribhoi, Meghalaya, Pop Yendoh, son of Wel Shadap of village Mundes of Karbi Anglong district, Polin Nongron, son of Phrein Nongron of village Synonsya of East Karbi Anglong and Donbok Mardanean, son of Phrun Nonbsap of village Nonparein, district Rebhoi of Meghalaya. The cadres also revealed the location of a hideout in jungle near the Assam-Meghalya​border, where cache of weapons, ammunition & explosives were hidden. The joint operation team searched the jungle​in the morning of 19 Sep and busted a hideout deep inside. Huge cache  comprising two G3 Rifles, one 303 Rifle(Factory Made), one 7.62 mm Pistol (Factory Made), one Single Barrel Gun (Factory Made), 10 Kg Explosive, 40 Detonators, 66 Live Rds and other warlike stores were recovered.
