Dimapur, Mar. 4 (EMN): The Nagaland assembly elections saw numerous first-time contenders who campaigned throughout the past month in their respective constituency seeking the mandate of the electorate.
Winner from Dimapur-2 assembly constituency (AC), Moatoshi Longkumer from the Naga People’s Front spoke to Eastern Mirror. He said that the “people wanted a change” for which he was voted. He has promised to bring what he was voted for. The NPF candidate attained 21942 votes in a massive win against Supulebten (Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party; NDPP) and Amos Longkumer (Aam Aadmi Party).
Moatoshi Longkumer has thanked the people for reposing their faith in him. He has assured that he would keep his word at whatever he has promised. The candidate declared that he won’t fail the people of Dimapur.
The NDPP candidate from southern Angami-2 Zale Neikha contested for the first time and emerged victorious. An engineer who decided to join politics because he wanted to “serve the people,” Neikha assured to ‘focus on the upcoming generation.’
“Youths are in a bad position and I want to mould the youth,” he said. He will not only suggest ideas about how to earn their livelihood but will also ‘study the constituency,’ he said. “I want to rectify and develop areas where it is needed. That will be my next step,” Neikha assured.
