The first Eastern Nagaland Youth annual sports Meets organized by Elation Sporting Association was successfully concluded here at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on March 26.
The meet brought together the youths from Eastern Nagaland who competed in events like football, volleyball and athletics.
After three days of enthusiastic participation in the different events the Konyak youth team were adjudged the overall champions of the meet while the Chang Youth bagged the runners up.
Meanwhile, the concluding day was graced by the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) President as the guest of honor, who urged the sports contingents to let this meet be a spring board to foster unity and friendship not only for eastern Nagaland but for the whole of Nagaland through sport.
The sports meet was well appreciated by the cross section of society in Mokokchung.
“I am very happy, the turnout was more than we expected,” said Saoyang Imlong treasurer of the Mokokchung Chang Union who witnessed the three days meet.
Rather than youths many parents from various sections witnessed the three days enthusiastic participation of the six tribes namely Phom, Chang, Konyak Sangtam, Yimchunger and Khiamniungan.

01.Football (Men): Konyak Youth, Runners up-Chang Youth
02.Tiger five (Girls): Champion-Konyak Youth, Runners up- Khiamniungan Youth
03.Volleyball (Men): Champion-Phom Youth, Runners up-Chang Youth
04.Volleyball (Girls): Champion-Konyak Youth, Runners up- Khiamniungan Youth
05.Race 100 m (Men): Champion-Chang Youth, Runners up-Sangtam Youth
06.Race 100 m (Girls): Champion-Sangtam Youth, Runners up-Chang Youth
07.Rally Race 400 m (Men): Champion-Chang Youth Runners up-Phom Youth
08.Rally Race 400 m (Girls): Champion-Phom Youth Runners up-Sangtam Youth.
