First civil helipad inaugurated in Zunheboto

Dimapur, Jan. 25 (EMN): Minister for Transport, Civil aviation and Land resources P Paiwang Konyak on Monday inaugurated the first civil helipad in Zunheboto district.

Konyak said that the government aims to come up with "civil helipads in all the districts at the nearest possible time," an update from DIPR informed.

The minister also informed about the completion of helipads in all 'internal places of Kohima district' adding that the government is building an exclusive civil heliport in Dimapur.

It said that despite the challenges of weather conditions, chopper services of the state would be 1200 hours of flying. Further, the government is providing twin engine choppers,' keeping in mind the safety of the travelling citizens of the state," it read.

Civil helipads completed as of now include Wokha and Zunheboto district, while Tizit sub-division and Mokokchung district are also due for inauguration on Aug.15.

Further, he informed that he is in 'talks with the union ministry regarding improvement of NST buses services in the state'.
