Dimapur, Dec. 16 (EMN): Three-day Christmas carnival concluded on December 14 held at public ground, Shamator town, which also saw active participation by people from adjacent villages. Highlights of the carnival included ward-wise competitions on dance, drawing, painting, carol and singing, musical night performed by 45 Assam Rifles jazz band.
The opening event also witnessed inauguration of Christmas carnival stalls by the chief guest Brig. SK Sheoran, DIG 7 Sector Assam Rifles, Tuensang, followed by presentation of musical night by jazz band from 45 Assam Rifles.
The second day saw competitions in drawing, painting and carol. The closing function also witnessed Bible recitation by Florence and Robert as well as dance and singing competitions. Col. Mohit Singh, commandant 45 Assam Rifles, Shamator, was the guest of honour of the closing function. He also gave away prizes to the winners.
Meanwhile, the Shamator Town Public Forum (STPF) president S Toji and the general secretary Kiumusu have thanked the ADC, Shamator, T Lankonsen Tsanglao for successfully organising the first ever Christmas carnival.
