than 100 families were rendered homeless in a devastating fire that broke out
at Mehbook Colony in Lahorijan, Karbi Anglong, on Saturday.

Niamlungpou Gonmei, informed that they received a distress call at around 3:26
pm following which fire personnel were immediately dispatched with three fire
tenders.
- Gonmei informed that personnel from the Central Fire Station
along with three fire tenders from Bokajan Fire and Emergency Service Station
and one from West Fire Station, Dimapur, managed the douse the inferno at
around 4:10 pm.
- The officer informed that the cause of fire and estimated
loss of property was yet to be ascertained. He, however, informed that there
was no report of any casualty to human life.
