Fire in Dimapur leaves 8 families homeless
Eight families were left homeless after a fire broke out at Ghora Patti, Dimapur, near Nagaland Gate
- DIMAPUR — Eight
families were left homeless after a fire broke out at Ghora Patti, Dimapur,
near Nagaland Gate, here on Saturday.
- While speaking to the officer-in-charge of Central Fire
Station, Khamlau Phom, he informed that they had received the distress call
around 9 am and promptly dispatched three fire tenders along with fire
personnel from the Central Fire Station.
- Two more fire tenders from the West Fire Station also joined
the efforts to extinguish the fire, and together they managed to bring it under
control within 30 minutes, he said, adding that due to timely intervention,
they managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding areas.
- Phom mentioned that the fire was suspected to have been
caused by an electrical short circuit. However, the extent of property loss is
yet to be determined. No casualties were reported.
