Dimapur, July 6 (EMN): A major fire was averted at the Loyem Memorial Ground in Tuensang when three structures being used as kitchens for quarantine centres caught fire between 10 and 10:30 am on July 6.
A source informed Eastern Mirror that eight of the structures were assigned as community kitchens for quarantine centres, out of which the three caught fire. It was informed that the cause of fire was due to a power short circuit in one of them.

“The fire gutted one morung (sic) completely and two partially. Nobody was injured,” the source informed.
The source informed that the Tuensang Town Baptist Lashong was handling food preparations on Monday.
According to updates from authorities, a call was received at about 11 am at the fire station and a quick response team was mobilised with three fire tenders.
The update informed that one of the kitchens belonging to Yunyu Union Tuensang was burned, while two others belonging to Khudei and Nakshou Union of Tuensang were partially burned in the inferno.
Timely response from the emergency services prevented the fire from spreading to the adjoining structures, updates stated.
