A jungle fire at the Assam Rifles Firing Range in Mokokchung was contained on March 4 by Fire and Emergency Services, SDRF, and Assam Rifles personnel.

MOKOKCHUNG — A jungle fire that broke out at the Assam Rifles Firing Range in Mokokchung was successfully contained by a coordinated response from the Fire and Emergency Services, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Assam Rifles personnel on Wednesday.
Inspector Keleseho Stephen Tsukru of the Fire and Emergency Services, Mokokchung, reported that the department received an emergency call from the Assam Rifles around 12:14 pm.
He added that firefighters were immediately mobilised, along with water tender pumpers (WTPs) dispatched to the scene without delay.

One WTP from the South Station and two from the North Station were deployed to combat the blaze. The combined efforts brought the fire fully under control by 4:20 pm.
Tsukru highlighted the crucial role played by SDRF and Assam Rifles personnel during the operation.
