Fire and Emergency Services to conduct test runs

- DIMAPUR — Special
Secretary (Home), Limasunep Jamir, has issued a notification for the awareness
of the general public and concerned stakeholders that the Department of Fire
and Emergency Services will conduct a series of scheduled test runs of fire
tenders equipped with sirens to ensure the readiness and effectiveness of the
fire response system on March 27 between 6 am – 7 am, 9 am – 11 am, and 3 pm –
5 pm in Kohima, Zunheboto, Dimapur, Wokha, Jalukie, Tuensang, Mokokchung,
Longleng, Phek, Mon, Pfutsero, and Kiphire. The general public and concerned stakeholders
have been requested to extend their cooperation and are advised that the sirens
may cause temporary disruptions to normal activities.
- Peren DC orders strict ban on wildlife hunting
- DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner of Peren,
Hiazu Meru, has directed all area administrative officers, in compliance with
government directives and in the interest of wildlife conservation, to inform
all village councils under their respective jurisdictions to strictly enforce
the ban on hunting and trading wildlife and to impose penalties on defaulters
as per customary practices. According to a DIPR report, Meru further stated
that the Sub-Division Enforcement Committee, headed by the area administrative
officers and comprising the Police and Forest departments, has been directed to
conduct MVCPs to monitor the sale of wildlife meat. The DC warned that failure
to comply with this directive shall result in prosecution under the relevant
sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
- Tuensang District Health Society holds Block Health Mela
- DIMAPUR — The District Health Society,
Tuensang, conducted a Block Health Mela at Yonyu village, which falls under the
Yokumsang Sub-Centre Health and Wellness Centre SC-HWC of Noksen block,
Tuensang district, on Tuesday. According to an update, the medical team was led
by DIO (RCH & UIP) Dr. Waulong Phom, accompanied by OBG and Gynae
specialist Dr. Nungsangtemjen from the district hospital, MO Dr. Saotakum Chang
from the district hospital, an ophthalmic specialist, nurses from Yokumsang
SC-HWC, the NVBDCP team, pharmacist Nagesh from PHC, a counsellor from MICTC,
DAPCU, DPM, BPM Noksen block, a lab technician from ICTC DH, DEO (IDSP), and an
LDA from the CMO office, Tuensang. A total of 122 OPD cases were registered,
including four ANM check-ups, 77 paediatric cases, and 20 NVBDCP cases.
- NPCC congratulates S Supongmeren Jamir
- DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pradesh Congress
Committee (NPCC) has congratulated S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament
and president of the NPCC, on being elected as a member of the Court of the
University of Delhi. In a message, it stated that it also extends its utmost
gratitude to the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi,
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, and the leadership of the Indian
National Congress for reposing their faith in Jamir and facilitating his
election to this position. It added that the NPCC believes his knowledge and
leadership will help the University of Delhi grow and achieve greater heights.
