Dimapur, Oct. 5 (EMN): To keep abreast with technological advancements and as per the direction of state government, directorate of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) has launched its official web portal along with the installation of a Biometric Attendance System (BAS).
According to the directorate press release, the web portal would be available under the domain name of "www.nfes.nagaland.gov.in." It is a state-of-the-art web portal with cutting-edge technology and is WCAG and GIGW compliant, it added.
The portal would provide information on the department's various activities, organisational structure, fire stations of all districts, achievements etc. One could also have access to the circulars, notices etc issued by the department from time to time. There would also be a news feed section that displays recent press releases.
It stated that the portal even has a public safety and compliance section and its own tweeter feeds which make it even more public-friendly. The department envisioned to integrate more functionalities and capabilities in the second phase of the project such as online job application, fire incidents and responses, public grievances, digital payment and many more web services to provide better service to the public.
The department also planned to supplement with the existing portal, an application called SFESRS (Smart Fire & Emergency Service Response System) in the near future, which would be supported in mobile devices. The application would allow citizens to send real-time fire incidents via a messaging system to the nearest fire station and enhance the fire personnel’s efficiency in delivering prompt response and service to the citizens.
The web portal is designed and developed by NK Square Infotech Pvt. Ltd, an ISO certified company that provides IT services, solutions and has an exemplary and unblemished record of client satisfaction and professional execution, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the directorate has organised a farewell programme in honour of four outgoing officers on September 29 in the office chamber of its Inspector General.
The retiring officers were L Nokcha Aier, additional superintendent; O Chubasongla Jamir, registrar; S Alem Longkumer, deputy superintendent; and Vetsuhu Tetseho, inspector.
The farewell programme was chaired by Kenny Khing, inspector, and speech on behalf of the staff was delivered by Neitho Angami, superintendent. Speeches were also delivered by the outgoing officers. Inspector general (F&ES), Neilasa Sopfü, wished all the outgoing officers a healthy retired life.
