DIMAPUR, MAY 22 : CONTINUING with its awareness campaign on conservation of wildlife, environment and climate change, Fingerprint has conducted programme in Chekiye Village Baptist Church, Dimapur, on May 22.
It may be mentioned here that Fingerprint, in collaboration with the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has committed to visit 175 colleges and schools in Nagaland.
In the programme, the team exhorted believers that everything in this world is created by God with purpose. Stating that every creation whether small or useless or beautiful were made with a purpose, the team said destroying them would amount to challenging the purpose of God.
Quoting the Bible from the book of Genesis 1:28-30, the team emphasised we are the steward of this world and our duty is to multiply and protect and not destroy our environment.
The team also cautioned that any delay in action for conservation would make it more difficult to address the climate change. It reminded that climate is changing faster than we could adapt. In addition to sea levels rising and major floods, it said rapid climate change is affecting the weather as it becoming more extreme with intense major storms, more rain followed by longer and drier droughts.
