DIMAPUR — The 14th edition of the Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament, organised by the Zeliangrong Football Association (ZFA), will hold its closing ceremony and final match at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal East, on November 8 at 3 pm.


According to an update, the final match will be played between Sawombung (SKYC) and Namthanlong (NYC).

According to an update, the closing ceremony-cum-final match will be attended by N Biren Singh, former chief minister of Manipur and MLA of 2-Heigang AC, as the chief guest. The guests of honour will include Govindas Konthoujam, former minister of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) and MLA of 26-Bishnupur AC; Kh Joykisan Singh, MLA of 9-Thangmeiband AC; and Sapam Kunjakeswar (Keba) Singh, MLA of 19-Patsoi AC.


G Aguilung, president of ZFA, will preside over the function, while Dinganglung Gangmei, IAS (retd.), chairman of the Hill Areas Committee (HAC) and MLA of 54-ST-Nungba AC, who also serves as the chairman of the organising committee, will be the chief host.


This year, 36 teams and clubs from various Zeliangrong villages across the state participated in the tournament. Highlights of the closing ceremony include an evening of music and cultural performances featuring Zeliangrong artists, an exhibition match between Zeliangrong Officers and the Zeliangrong Film Forum, cultural dances, a tug-of-war, and a prize distribution ceremony.


The winner of this year’s tournament will receive a cash prize of INR 2 lakh along with a trophy, while the runners-up will be awarded INR 1 lakh and a trophy. Group awards include the Best Disciplined Team and Best Parade Team, while individual awards include Best Player, Best Keeper, and Top Scorer. Each group award carries a cash prize of INR 20,000 and each individual award carries INR 10,000, along with a trophy.


The organising committee has invited all football fans to attend the final match. Invitees are requested to bring their invitation cards for free access to the main stadium through Gate No. 1, which will be reserved for VIPs, dignitaries, invitees with invitation cards, social and public leaders, and village authorities.


For the general public, the main VIP gallery shed will be accessible with tickets priced at INR 100 per head, while Gate No. 2 (public gallery) will be open to the general public with tickets priced at INR 20 per head.
