FGN, NSCN/GPRN-R mourns demise of members
Gen. (Retd.) Viyalie Metha, Kedahge of the Federal Government of Nagaland, has extended heartfelt condolences to the family and relatives of late Veducholü Lala, president of the Naga Women Federation, Naga National Council
- DIMAPUR — Gen. (Retd.) Viyalie Metha, Kedahge
of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), has extended heartfelt condolences
to the family and relatives of late Veducholü Lala, president of the Naga Women
Federation (NWF), Naga National Council (NNC), who passed away on March 30.
- In a press release, it was mentioned that Veducholü Lala, a
nonagenarian, hailed from the village of Middle Khomi. She passed away after a
prolonged illness.
- The release stated that Lala, daughter of Thürümüso of Phek
Sub-Region, Chakhesang Region, joined national service in 1955. She served as
president of the Chakhesang Region Women Organisation, NNC, and as president of
the Japfü State Women Federation. On March 10, 1985, she was entrusted with the
role of president of the Naga Women Federation.
- She served as president of NWF until her last breath and was
a recipient of the "Nagaland Star". Describing her as a true patriot,
the release noted that her untimely demise is a great loss to the nation.
However, her patriotic service and sacrifices will always remain alive in the
annals of the nation.
- The FGN prayed that God may grant peace and solace to the
bereaved family members and loved ones during this time of grief. It was also
expressed that her soul may eternally rest in peace.
- Meanwhile, the NSCN/GPRN-R (Akato), through its MIP,
expressed sorrow at the sad demise of Aaron Zhimo, Tatar and PA to Ato Kilonser
of NSCN/GPRN.
- In a press release, it was mentioned that Aaron, a resident
of Thahekhu village, passed away at Dimapur Civil Hospital on March 30.
- Acknowledging the service rendered to the nation by him, the
NSCN stated that his contributions would remain in the books of the Naga
National Movement.
- The NSCN invoked God's grace to grant eternal peace to his
soul and prayed that the good Lord provide solace to his family members and
friends during their time of grief.
