DIMAPUR — Kedahge
of Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), Zhopra Vero, has greeted the Naga
people on the occasion of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.
He stated that with the celebration of Christmas, we also
celebrate God reconciling with humanity through Jesus Christ.
In a world that often seems filled with chaos and
uncertainty, he stated that Christmas is a time to pause and reflect on the
hope we have in Christ- the Prince of Peace, whose peace surpasses all
understanding.
“In the midst of our busy lives, let us remember that peace
is not just something we hope for, but something we already have in Him. His
birth is a promise fulfilled—a promise that God is with us, always, in every
season of life,” Vero said.
As the people look toward the New Year, he called upon to
continue walking in the joy and hope that Christ brings.
In another statement, the Naga National Council (Parent
Body) under the leadership of its president, Yilow Humtsoe; vice president,
Helimong Yimkhiung; and general secretary, V Nagi, has conveyed Christmas
greetings to all the people in the Naga homeland and abroad.
It appealed to all the national workers to pray earnestly to
the living God to forgive and pardon the national sin of killing, forceful/
multiple taxations, defections, hatred, stubbornness, jealousy, unforgiveness,
collaboration with adversary etc.
Describing Naga national unity, which is the real political
essence for freedom of Naga people as a whole, as the need of the hour, it
called upon the Naga national workers of different groups to forward in this
endeavours.
It further wished a blessed and peaceful New Year ahead.
The Khango-led NSCN/GPRN has also conveyed Christmas and New
Year greetings and called to remind oneself about the true principle of
Christians and celebrate the day in His likeness.
It urged to wholeheartedly thank the Heavenly Father for his
profound blessings and care throughout the year.
“May this Christmas be a blessing to one and all as we
continue to strive for greater cause of Nagas and may the New Year be a time of
reflection, renewal and growth and usher in unwavering spirit of togetherness,”
it stated.
It further urged the countrymen to embrace love, peace and
happiness in this festive season.
