DIMAPUR — Lieut.
Gen. Kukuyo Veswuh, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Naga Army, FGN, has
described his termination from the NNC/FGN by Kedahge TM Rhakho for alleged
violation of the Naga Army Rules and Regulations as being without valid
allegations and marked by procedural lapses.
In a press statement, he said the decision had trampled on
his dignity and tainted his reputation. He added that the decision was not
based on the procedures outlined in the Naga Army Rules and Regulations, but
rather on a dictatorial decision made by the Kedahge, without any legal basis,
false allegations, and a disregard for all known norms and procedures.
“The sad reality is that the Federal Government of Nagaland
under TM Rhakho in recent times is no longer fit to be called a government but
can be considered only as a group with just a handful of people,” he said,
adding that the government exists in name only.
He further mentioned that there are no kilonsers or any
committee to formulate government policies. There is not a single midan peyu,
i.e., regional representative. Even within the military, there are no Naga Army
officers of high rank nor any council or committee to advise on or resolve
defence matters.
He suggested to TM Rhakho, Kedahge FGN, that instead of
clinging to a high position with only a handful of supporters, the best option
for him may be to gracefully retire after dissolving his group, which would be
welcomed by the Naga people, as it would reduce the number of factions.
