DIMAPUR — The
Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) led by its president, Brig. (retired) S
Singnya, has issued a clarification regarding reports of the Naga army uniting
on a common ground between its organisation and the NSCN (K) led by Maj. Gen.
(retired) Ang Mai in Shaplao Shao Village under Lahe township in Myanmar.
In a clarification, the Killo secretary of FGN, Selithre
Sangtam, categorically stated that the NNC/FGN under the leadership of Brig.
(retired) S Singnya has never authorised or entrusted any individual or entity
to engage in discussion at the government level with any political groups,
particularly with those that have not entered into a ceasefire agreement with
the Government of India.
It stated that the viral news circulating in both print and
social media regarding an alleged meeting in Shaplao Shao Village under Lahe
township in Myanmar on January 14 between NSCN (K) led by Maj. Gen (retired)
Ang Mai and NNC/FGN led by Kedahge, Brig. (retired) S Singnya was entirely
false, misleading and without any official sanction.
The FGN further termed the report as null and void.
