Dimapur, Aug. 13 : Five unidentifiedfelons allegedly robbed some manual workers of their mobile phones and some cash at a construction site on the night of August 12 at NST colony, near City Tower, Dimapur.
According to the owner of the construction site, who wished to remain anonymous, five persons came at around 9:30 pm. While two waited outside, three of them entered the construction site and robbed the workers of five mobile phones and some cash amount to INR 6000. The owner claimed that one of the miscreants had a handgun in his possession.
The owner said that two of the miscreants were locals while the communities of the other three cannot be ascertained. The workers hired by the owner live at the construction site and the miscreants entered the site while they were resting after the day’s work.
While terming it as a case of petty theft by some miscreants, the owner however, expressed concern that the carrying of a firearm by one of the miscreants make the incident a serious one.
“It is a petty theft but the involvement of a firearm makes the incident a serious issue,” he stated while adding an FIR has been lodged at the East Police Station, Dimapur in this connection.
