Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): Fear and tension gripped Sangtemtilla village in Dimapur district following reported activities of few vested individuals/ parties trying to encroach upon Sangtemtilla jurisdiction with the sole intention to occupy the said plot/land.
Following the unprecedented development, Eastern Nagaland People's Union Dimapur (ENPUD) seriously viewed the prevailing situations at Sangtemtilla village and appealed to the people or persons concerned involved in the issue to restraint from such illegal move in the larger interest of justice and also to maintain peaceful and harmonious correlations amongst the Naga brethren in general.
It was learned from the records (both written documents and oral transition) that Sangtemtila village, which was established in the year 1951 prior to attainment of Nagaland statehood, is bounded by Thahekhu village on North, Dhansiri river on East, Railway on West and Tilla Bosti of Karbi Anglong, Assam, on South. They have been maintaining peace and living harmoniously with Tilla village and other neighbouring villages without any dispute for more than 60 years now.
ENPUD, after consultations and interactions with members of both Sangtemtila and Tilla Bosti, learned that both Sangtemtila village in Dimapur district and Tilla Bosti in Karbi Angling have been maintaining cordial relationship without any fear and tension with well demarcated boundary line except certain mutual lease agreement between the two villages which was said to have been entered with mutual understanding.
Stating that the activities of some vested interested persons have now created fear and tension to the peaceful village dwellers, ENPUD president MC Ongbou Chang and the general secretary Jeange Yanlem Konyak appealed to the people or persons concerned involved in the issue to restraint from such illegal move in the larger interest of justice and also to maintain peaceful and harmonious correlations amongst the Naga brethren in general. The Union further appealed the district administration to take up the matter for an early amicable solution.
