THE Finance Department, Government of Nagaland today released the sanction order for disbursement of salaries to the agitating Nagaland NRHM employees amounting to Rs. 10 crore.
However, sources revealed the over 1000 NRHM employees, who have been not attending the health services throughout the state seeking payment of their salaries since April 2014 for the last eight days, standing firm on their demand have decided to continue with their agitation unless they receive the actual payment.
Sources also said that irritated over the continued delay in release of the pending salaries despite the funds being released by the Central Government, the NRHM employees approached the Minister for Health and Family Welfare P. Longon in Kohima today. They reportedly apprised the minister about the prevailing imbroglio and also sought his intervention for early release of the pending salaries.
It is learnt that the Minister while acknowledging their genuine grievances, informed the NRHM employees that their file was approved by the Chief Minister, TR Zeliang, who is also the Finance Minister of the State yesterday and that the Finance Department would issue the sanction order by this afternoon. In this connection, the Minister had also appealed to the NRHM employees to call off their agitation, sources said.
Meanwhile, sources in the Department of Health and Family Welfare confirmed that the Finance Department issued the sanction order amounting to Rs. 10 crore for payment of four-months pending salaries of all the NRHM employees in the State.
The salaries of the aggrieved NRHM employees would be released within next few days, sources added.
