Dimapur, Dec. 19: The opening match of the twenty-first Winter Cricket Challenge went to Forest Cricket Club (FCC (A)) defeating Tempo by 73 runs.
Tempo had won the toss but elected to bowl first. Opener Tumben Ngullie of FCC(A) was beyond control for the Tempo bowlers and was able to get 70 for 44 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes.
FCC(A) could garner 170 in the twenty overs for the loss of 7 wickets whereas Tempo on the other hand were restricted to only 97 in 19.3 overs. Tumben Ngullie of FCC(A) was adjudged the man of the match.
Earlier a short program marked the opening of the match by Smti. Thungdeno Mozhui, Project Director DRDA, Wokha as the chief guest.
The tournament is organised by Senior Noble Klan.
