MOKOKCHUNG — A
National Integration Camp for National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from
various colleges and universities across the country was held from January 21
to January 27 at Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, Assam.
The seven-day camp was organised by the NSS Cell, AAU
Jorhat, and the Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati, under the theme
"Youth for my Bharat".
The event was attended by over 200 NSS volunteers and
programme officers from 16 states: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh,
Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Odisha,
Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.
Ten student volunteers from Fazl Ali College (FAC),
Mokokchung, along with Dr. L Imlinichet Imchen (programme officer and assistant
professor, FAC) as the contingent leader, represented the state of Nagaland at
the event.
Some highlights of the activities included cultural
presentations from all participating states, technical sessions on the role of
NSS volunteers in entrepreneurship development, hands-on training on disaster
preparedness, fashion and national integration, the role of financial
institutions in national integration, life skills education, and more.
Other competitions included cultural presentations, a speech
competition, and art and rangoli.
