DIMAPUR — The Eco Club, Creative Arts Club, and Fine Arts Club of Fazl Ali College jointly organised a Stage Arrangement Workshop on Saturday at the College on the theme "Celebrating Nature with creativity". The programme was chaired by Dr. I Narola Imchen.
According to a press release, resource persons Tutu Jamir and Nungshijungla led the sessions, emphasising that stage decoration goes beyond flowers.
They highlighted the importance of teamwork, sustainability, and environmental responsibility in stage design. Key aspects discussed included background, lighting, furniture placement, theme, and colour, along with technical considerations such as electrical access for sound, light, and screen setup.

Participants were introduced to principles of floral decoration such as balance, proportion, rhythm, harmony, and unity. Trainers also explained the five elements of floral design—line, colour, form, space, and texture—and the 3–5–8 rule (three types of flowers, five stems of greenery, and eight stems of filler flowers).
The workshop featured live demonstrations of foam folding, net cutting, use of floral tapes, and arrangement techniques, followed by hands-on practice where students and faculty created their own stage decorations.
Trainers also pointed out common mistakes such as overcrowding, poor lighting, and blocking décor with instruments or furniture.
