Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung district celebrated its 60th foundation day on September 7 with Rajesh Soundararajan, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Soudararajan encouraged the students to work hard to achieve their dreams. He added that success would depend on the individual and not on the reputation of the institution.
In his welcome address, the college principal, T Allong Tzudir narrated the history of the college, which was set up in 1959 as an evening college. Besides, he also highlighted on the future plans of the college.
Academic achievement awards were also presented to the University subject toppers from the college namely Chubasenba Y Lemtur (Mathematics) and Moasenla (Geography). Moasenla also received the Lt. Dr. Longrizung Award for Academic Excellence in Arts, while Sentijungla Lemtur received the same award for Science. Aosenla Jamir received the Chubainla Academic Award as well as the Linnaeus Award for Botany, while Chubasenba Y Lemtur received the Dr. AK Choudhury Award for college topper in Mathematics.
A press release from the college’s media cell stated that the foundation day was celebrated as part of the three-day September Melange – II. It added that various activities as debate, dance, cosplay, photo exhibition, drama presentations, demonstration on mushroom cultivation by the department of Botany, musical presentations, and solo competition as well as various food stalls were organised by students.
